Night before Departure...First step, packing!

Ok so the time has finally come! After a month of working at Ann Taylor, I am off on vacation. First stop, Huntington, WV followed by Washington, DC. My final destination will be the United Kingdom with a small side trip to Paris, France. Needless to say, I am quite excited! After a week of exploring London and Paris on my own, I will join a group of Georgetown students to study Shakespeare in the very place where it originated! What an honor that will be. Anyone who is reading this blog knows that I am very passionate about Shakespeare, so this will hopefully be an unforgettable experience! However, I will get to my European travels later on. Right now, I am focused on packing a suitcase that must be 50 pounds or less which is quite a challenge for me. Additionally, I am trying to plan out my ten days or so in Washington. Since I do live in DC for most of the year, I have an excellent grasp on what I want to do while I'm there. The most important thing I want to do is to visit the Jefferson Memorial. I have lived in DC for two years and have yet to visit it! I also hope to spend time with friends as there are plenty of people there that I know very well! However, first stop is Huntington to spend time with an old teammate of mine, Katy Schad. I have my suitcase relatively packed, new CDs burned for the trip, and my road map to get me there.

  1. But Shakespeare himself at times didn't appear too caught up in the day-to-day; in fact he wrote in MacBeth the following lament:

    Tomorrow, and tomorrow, and tomorrow,
    Creeps in this petty pace from day to day,
    To the last syllable of recorded time;
    And all our yesterdays have lighted fools
    The way to dusty death. Out, out, brief candle!
    Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player,

    Of course, the literary types that will be reading this blog will know that William Faulkner took the title The Sound and the Fury from this soliloquy
